Application Hydrocarbon resins made by KOLON Industries, Inc. provide the best value to customers for the following purposes.

Polymer Modifications

Plastic modifications
: When amorphous hydrocarbon resin is mixed with crystalline polymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene, it reduces the degree of crystallization for the polymer, granting various characteristics to the end product. It also lowers the melting point of the compound, improving the convenience of processing, such as extrusion and injection. Plastic compounds containing hydrocarbon resins are mainly used for films, and we often encounter such materials in our daily lives as packing materials for tobacco and various foods.

Rubber compounding
: Tires, various industrial tubes, and belts are produced from compounds of natural rubber (NR), stylenebutadiene rubber (SBR) or butyl rubber (BR) base, and hydrocarbon resins are widely used as effective compounding materials to improve the processability and physical properties of the end product.

Additive effects of hydrocarbon resins
